Objective

https://startuplapland.fi/
In the Startup Lapland study modules, you will learn to assess your personal qualifications and opportunities as an entrepreneur and develop a feasible Entrepreneurial Plan.
Also available in English.

Execution methods

You can complete the studies online anytime and anywhere during the study period. Each module consists of lessons and assignments, with estimated completion times provided so you can plan your study schedule. Once you’ve been accepted as a student, register for the online course at startuplapland.fi, log in, select a module, and sign up as a participant. After registering and enrolling in a module, you’ll gain access to all its learning materials.

Under the “Start studies” section of the course, you’ll find the study modules as well as the Entrepreneurial Plan, a workbook that you’ll complete as you work through the modules. The Entrepreneurial Plan tasks are designed so that your understanding of business planning develops step-by-step.

By opening a module, you’ll see all the lessons required to complete it. Lesson content is divided into individual tasks, which may include reading materials, articles, publications, videos, podcasts, and multiple-choice quizzes, among others. Each task includes an estimated time for completion. Once you finish a task, mark it as completed; this allows you to track your progress. At the end of each lesson, there is usually a multiple-choice quiz that requires an 80% pass rate. Don’t worry if you don’t pass the first time; you can try as many times as you need.

Each module includes tasks related to the Entrepreneurial Plan, which allow you to apply what you’ve learned by refining and developing your business idea. Save the Entrepreneurial Plan on your computer at the start of your studies and update it whenever required by an assignment.

A module is complete when you’ve marked all tasks as completed and passed all multiple-choice quizzes. You’ll then receive a certificate for completing a one-credit module. Proceed to the next module afterward. All module certificates are stored under “My Account” on the course platform.

If you have questions about the course, feel free to ask Poro-Bot, who’s happy to assist you.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The evaluation criterion is the successful completion of study modules, which is demonstrated by the completion certificates for each module. You will receive a certificate of completion for each individual module that you pass. In addition, a successful completion of the Entrepreneurial Plan is required to pass the course. For the Entrepreneurial Plan to be considered successfully completed, all tasks in the plan must be addressed in accordance with the assignment instructions (Parts 1 and 2).

The completion certificates for the modules and the final Entrepreneurial Plan are to be submitted to the course’s Moodle online platform. You will receive instructions for logging into Moodle once you have been accepted as a student in the course. Moodle is used solely for submitting completion certificates and the Entrepreneurial Plan, as well as for group communication within the course.
