Completion alternatives

5 weeks of Practical training in evidence-based nursing can be done on a paid basis in your own work, if it is a substitute for a nurse. You can find instructions for starting this process from Hoitotyön harjoittelut -Moodle platform. Follow the instructions.

Announce the internship information (via Forms), indicate that it is a paid internship. The student have to contact in advance with the teacher, who is responsible of this practical training. All the questions concerning this training via email to Kirsi Heikkinen (kirsi.heikkinen@lapinamk.fi).

Note! You cannot go to Evidence-based nursing practice if you have not completed the previous practical trainings or theories.

The medical calculation exam of the Nurse's Core Competence Exam must be successfully completed one month before the start of practical training. More detailed information can be found from the Moodle platform (Hoitotyön harjoittelut). Assessment methods and criteria

EVALUATION OF GUIDED PRACTICE
The competences in nursing:
- Learning Process of the Student
- Ethical Competence
- Cooperation and Communication Competence
- Decision making Competence
- Clinical Competence in Nursing

The senior lecturer in charge of the guided practice is responsible for the final grade mark and evaluation made up of the student’s self-evaluation, his/her clinical supervisors evaluation, and peer assessment dialogical discussion.

The evaluation scale is Pass / Fail.
The feedback from the clinical practice will be taken into consideration when grading the whole module.
The mark Fail is based on the criteria of professional, cooperative, and developmental qualities. Thus, one of the following criteria is sufficient for the mark Fail

- Cooperation Competence
- Developmental and Developing Competence
