Objective
Upon successful completion of the course the student:
1. understands the meaning of different literacies as part of academic expertise
2. is able to identify prevalent discourses in their field of study
3. is able to use reading strategies purposefully for critical reading
4. is able to identify, locate and retrieve relevant text sources
5. is able to analyze, interpret and evaluate different types of texts
6. is able to follow research in their field of study.

Content
The course aims to help students advance their academic expertise and develop their skills related to understanding, analyzing and interpreting different types of texts. Students will learn to identify and critically analyze prevalent discourses in their field of study. In addition to expanding field-specific terminology, the course will focus on developing critical thinking, argumentation and meaning negotiation of key concepts.
