Study Guide

Objective

Having successfully completed the course, the student will
1) be familiar with the most basic structures of modern Japanese
2) know some Japanese characters (HIRAGANA, KATAKANA, some KANJI), greetings, expressions of time and numbers
3) achieve the level A1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course covers: pronunciation, listening, speaking, writing HIRAGANA, KATAKANA and some useful KANJI, reading and grammar.

If you miss the first class session and have not discussed your absence with the teacher, your place can be given to the first person on the waiting list.
Remember to cancel your registration if you will not be taking the course.
Free-of-charge LUC studies are intended only for degree students (Bachelor’s/Master’s) and exchange students at universities of Lapland.
When enrolling, use your own university’s email address to verify that you have a valid right to study.
Enrolment will be rejected, and no right to study will be granted, if you are not entitled to free-of-charge LUC studies as defined above.
