Objective
Having successfully completed the course, the student will :
1) understand some familiar and daily expressions used in very recurring situations of communication as well as very simple statements aiming at satisfying certain concrete needs of the social life and can produce some.
2) be able to identify himself and answer questions concerning, for example, his nationality, his age, his place of residence, his school and possibly, to ask himself questions of this type to somebody.
3) be able to participate in an ordinary interaction, at least partially, by means of simple statements (centered on one or two words) also by using his mother tongue or other acquired languages tongues if the interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly and shows himself cooperative and friendly.
4) achieve the level A1.1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Content
The course is based on: listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises.
The course teaches from the following topics and grammar points, among others: introducing yourself, numbers, days/months, telling the time, adjectives, negative form, prepositions, phonetics...

1) Textbook (to be announced before the course start).
2) Teacher's own material.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Assessment criteria:
1) Active participation in class (attendance min. 80%). Extra homework will be done to compensate for the absences.
2) Completion of homework assignments
3) Final exam.
