Objective
After completion of the course the student
1. is able to understand how age, gender and ethnicity interact and plays a role in the field of care.
2. will have knowledge on human rights of different groups, for example, older people, persons with disabilities, women’s rights, gender inequality and discrimination in care sectors.

Accomplishment methods
The course contains lectures, and analytical work on research material.
To successfully complete the course, the student needs to participate in the class and independently study literature/articles, actively participate in group activities/the seminar and write an essay from 10 -12 pages (minimum 2000 words).
Content
The course discusses the gender dimension of ageing and care sectors, human rights issues, and how to promote age-friendly and work-friendly environments.

Good and very good (3-4): Performance links to the task, and a skill to analyse and justify. The student has addressed the issue comprehensively. The overall activities may contain some deficiencies.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): Performance outlines an extensive whole and student can apply knowledge in a multifaceted way in various contexts. The work establishes independency and it is a perfect thing that comprises justified rational or critical observation. The essay is very well written.
