Objective

Having successfully completed this course, the student will
1) possess the most basic skills in oral and written Chinese
2) also be aware of the main traits of Chinese culture
3) be able to achieve the level A1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Execution methods

Individual, pair and group work. Exercises 36 h. Self-study or working in small groups 60 h.

Accomplishment methods

Active participation in class. Final exam.

Content

The course consists of basic information of most used everyday events, e.g. greeting and introducing people, asking and giving directions, talking about time and date, giving information about locations, etc. The course also includes pronunciation training, culture background and vocabulary of the above mentioned topics, and basic knowledge of Chinese character writing.
