Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Fail: no essay submitted (in this case the module is not registered at all), plagiarizing, word count clearly insufficient

Grade 1–2: missing the point, word count slightly low, secondhand (not original) sources, lengthy quotes or large images that are not justified, quotes without own input, inconsistent citations, poor grammar, over-emphasis on general facts, looks unfinished

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3: focus OK, sensible use of original sources and some external sources, the text is the author’s own but not necessarily original, no major citation or grammar issues, looks OK

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 4–5: topic well grasped, versatile and meaningful use of original sources and literature, the text clearly demonstrates the author’s own analysis of the topic, citations and grammar are on point, looks great

Qualifications

No pre-requirements. Having studied the basics of public international law in some form greatly aids in completing the module.
