Objective
The course provides the student with intensive practice in both cooperative and adversarial forms of spoken professional discourse.Upon successful completion of the course the student should have1) requisite confidence and skills to handle academic situations2) peer assessment techniques that highlight the role of the listener as a key element in successful communication3) effective methods of structuring and presenting arguments.
Execution methods
Active participation in class, preparation of presentations, peer assessments. Exercises 30 h.

Regular attendance and class participation.
Content
The course will consist of distinctive features of spoken English and oral presentation; preparing and giving a presentation; illustrating points effectively; preparing, structuring and presenting arguments; peer and self-assessment using video where appropriate; pronunciation and fluency exercises.
