Objective
Student learns the basics of additive manufacturing and the applications via book exam.
This course does not contain any teaching or laboratories. It provides theoretical information about 3D printing required in future practical 3D printing work.
Content
The student gets to know the material and performs the exam in Moodle on given time (to be agreed with the participants).
Topic that are included:
- Introduction to AM and basic principles
- General additive manufacturing process
- Different AM technologies (VAT photopolymerization, powder bed fusion, extrusion based systems, material jetting, binder jetting, direct energy deposition, sheet lamination). Focused on FDM-technology.
- Post-processing of the print
- DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing)
- AM product design process and printing process chart

The exam is on xx.xx.xxx (will be informed later, will be during October-November)
You can select the time between these dates
When you open the exam during that time, you will have 3 hours to do the exam.
You have only one attempt.

The exam will be held as a Moodle exam in Fall 2025.
The Moodle site will appear closer to the exam time.
