Objective
In the basics of wind power technology, knowledge related to wind power energy, production, legislation and YVA procedures is learned at a general level. The course introduces the basics of wind energy conversion, the main components of a wind turbine, the operating principle of a turbine, the equations of power production, the conversion of wind power into electricity and the energy efficiency of a wind farm, and the establishment of a wind farm.

The student knows the basic concepts of wind power technology. The student is able to explain the production of wind power and phenomena related to wind energy and to understand technical solutions and phenomena related to wind power production and wind energy.

The student is part of the basic concepts of wind power technology. The student is able to describe technical solutions and phenomena related to wind power generation and wind energy, and is able to utilize what he / she has learned in practice.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student knows the basic concepts of wind power technology, knows the technical solutions and phenomena related to wind power production and wind energy, and is able to utilize and apply the practice he / she has learned independently.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The assignments must be completed 90% and the examination must be required for the assessed course performance.
