Objective

The student is able to utilise possibilities offered by Lapland UAS when planning and implementing his/her studies.
He/she knows various features of the different learning approaches used in Lapland UAS.
He/she is an active learner in different learning environments.
He/she knows how to use services of Lapland UAS and to follow its principles and academic regulations.
The student is able to retrieve information as part of his/her learning process and its development.
The student knows cross-cultural concepts and theories and is able to apply them in teamwork. He/she gains the basic skills of working in teams.
The student knows basics of business and basic business terminology.

Teaching methods

Learning process is organized through the project work and problem-solving process. It includes teamwork, team tasks, team tutoring, independent studies and knowledge acquisition activities.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Assessment is based on the process and actual skills and knowledge evaluation.

Level 1
Study Skills:
The student has basic knowledge about own study field and is able to name main areas of knowledge within own study field.
He/she knows how to use services of Lapland UAS and to follow its principles and academic regulations.
The student is able to use Lapland UAS formats according to given instructions and retrieve information.
The student knows cross-cultural concepts and theories.
The student can perform as a member of an international team.
The student can use the common ICT programmes available at Lapland UAS.

Basics of Business:
The student knows the basics of business and business terminology.

Level 2
Study Skills:
The student has basic knowledge about own study field and is able to describe main areas of knowledge within own study field.
He/she is able to use services of Lapland UAS and to follow its principles and academic regulations.
The student is able to use fluently Lapland UAS formats according to given instructions and retrieve information relevant to the topic.
The student is able to describe and explain cross-cultural concepts and theories.
The student can perform as a member of an international team and can take responsibility of one’s own actions

Basics of Business:
The student knows the basics of business and business terminology and can describe and give examples of them.

Level 3

He/she can perform as an active member of an international team and is able to take responsibility of the team.

Level 5
Study Skills:
The student has excellent knowledge about own study field and is able to foresee its meaning in the context of own career development.
He/she is able to utilize services of Lapland UAS and efficiently to follow its principles and academic regulations.
The student is able to utilize Lapland UAS formats and can evaluate the reliability of sources used.
The student has a holistic understanding of cross-cultural concepts and theories and their meaning in practice.
He/she can perform as an initiative member of an international team.

The student has a command of basics of business and business terminology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment is based on the process and actual skills and knowledge evaluation.

The grade is based on:
-PBL portfolio 100% consisting of 4 essays.
-CROSS-CULTURAL SKILLS, INFORMATION RETRIEVAL, PBL tutorials mandatory participation.
