Objective
After completing the course, the student is familiar with the key features offered by a switched LAN and the student has learned about the operation and design of the STP protocol and the virtual local area network (VLAN). The student is able to define the function settings and virtual networks of the Ethernet switch and to route IP traffic between virtual networks.
Content
The CCNA certification indicates knowledge of networking for the small office, home office (SOHO) market and the ability to work in small businesses or organizations with networks that have fewer than 100 nodes. A CCNA certifiedindividual can perform the following tasks:
Install and configure Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocolinternetworks using LAN and WAN interfaces
Provide Level 1 troubleshooting service
Improve network performance and security
Perform entry-level tasks in the planning, design, installation, operation, andtroubleshooting of Ethernet and TCP/IP network.
The completion of CCNA 3 is an integral step toward achieving CCNA certification.
