Objective

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Achieve the level A2.1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Accomplishment methods

1) 36 hours of active participation in class (attendance min. 80%)

2) 60 hours of self-study: preparatory work for the meetings, online grammar/exercises and vocabulary learning, homework assignments

3) Final exam (written and oral).

Content

The course is based on: listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises.
The course teaches from the following topics and grammar points, among others: at the office, holidays, modal verbs, passé-composé tense, tonic pronouns, body parts, familiy ties, direct/indirect object pronouns, planning holidays, working/living in France, subjunctive present tense, gerund.

1) active participation in class (attendance min. 80%)

2) completion of homework assignments

3) final exam.

XRAN0001 French 1 – XRAN0002 French 2 or equivalent studies.
