Objective

Multicultural Tourism and Hospitality
Multidimensional Hospitality (theme)
The student can manage in field-related situations at work in Swedish. He/ she is able to exchange thoughts and express opinions on matters related to work. He/ she is able to write documents related to the field and to serve customers in Swedish. He/she obtains oral and written skills of Swedish required in the Act on the Knowledge of Languages Required of Personnel in Public Bodies (424/2003, A352/2003, 8§).

The student:

- is able to use work and field related language in Swedish

- is able to tell about his/her background, studies and work in Swedish and is capable of managing in field-related customer service and other oral communication situations

- can write work and field related documents

- is able to present a company or an organisation and its products in Swedish

- is familiar with the Nordic operating environment

Fail (0)
The student does not complete the assignments according to instructions or does not attend the learning situations at all. He/she does not pass the assignments and/or the exam as required.

Poor (1)
The student is able to describe work related facts only briefly and simply in Swedish and his/her Swedish skills need improvement. He/she manages work related contacts and customer service in Swedish with assistance. His/ her oral and written communication skills are limited to managing very simple routine situations only.

Satisfactory (2)
The student is able to describe work related facts only briefly and simply in Swedish and his/her Swedish skills need improvement. His/her oral and written communication skills are sufficient for managing routine situations only.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3)
The student is able to describe work related facts in Swedish. He/she manages in in the most typical work related contacts and customer service situations in Swedish. He/she is mostly able to use proper style and comprehensible language in his/her written and oral communication.

Very good (4)
The student is able to describe work related facts in Swedish effortlessly. He/she manages well in work related contacts and customer service in Swedish. He/she is able to use proper style and mostly faultless language in his/her written and oral communication.

Excellent (5)
The student is able to describe work related facts in Swedish fluently. He/she is fluent in work related contacts and customer service in Swedish and is also able to use proper style and nearly faultless language in his/her oral and written communication.
