Objective

You understand the principles of battery operation. You know different battery chemistries. You know the key concepts and calculations of electrochemistry. You can identify the elements and compounds used in batteries.

Methods of completion

Students can: a) use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations. b) assess information sources critically. e) choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.

How does a battery work? What are the different battery chemistries? What are the key concepts and calculations of electrochemistry? What elements and compounds are used in batteries?

Materials

Study materials are provided via the Learn platform.

Teaching methods

• The course is mainly carried out by way of unscheduled online study but it also has scheduled online lessons. Participation in scheduled online lessons is not mandatory. The teacher provides guidance during scheduled online lessons. • Studies are carried out on the Learn platform. Access to the platform opens on the starting day of the course. As a rule, scheduled online lessons are carried out via Teams. In addition to having an internet connection, the students must also have a video and audio connection during online lessons. • Progress is made by completing assignments and taking an exam. • The assessed assignments are completed individually/in groups/in pars. The assignments must be submitted by the given deadlines.
