The course content: Project Types: Investment project, development project, research project, feasibility study, production project • Fundamentals of project management, project triangle, project requirements definition, planning, and execution • Project management frameworks and tools, as well as the necessary competency foundation • Evaluation of project profitability • Stakeholder and risk management analysis • Planning of a research or development project • Evaluation of a development project and implementation of its outcomes
Objective
After completing the course, the student is able to: • identify the project management frameworks and tools • identify different project types and their operating environments • deepen the competence base needed in project management • identify the main principles of project management • plan a development and research project • lead a working life research and development project • apply different practices of project management • assess the profitability of the project • prepare an analysis of stakeholder and risk management • plan the implementation of the outputs of the development project

Completion alternatives
If a student has previously completed a similar course, they can apply for credit transfer. If a student has expertise in project management and project work, they can demonstrate their competence through a skills demonstration to receive credit for the course. The teachers will determine the assignment(s) required for the credit transfer. The skills demonstration must be agreed upon before the course begins.
Student workload
The course comprises a total of 5 credits, equivalent to 135 hours. The course includes contact teaching sessions (15 hours), independent study such as reviewing materials (20 hours), an online discussion assignment (10 hours), a small group assignment (30 hours), and an exam (60 hours). There are two components that are numerically graded (T1–K5): the exam and the group assignment. Successful course completion requires attendance in teaching sessions and the submission of all assignments with a passing grade.
