Objective

Purpose After completing the course, you will understand the importance of sexuality and human rights, sexual diversity and sexual health from the perspective of the overall well-being of the individual and the community, as well as society. - You understand the extent of sexual well-being and human rights and the importance of promoting them from the perspective of individuals, communities and society - You know human and sexual rights as well as ethics and you are able to promote them in working life - You know the basic goals and tools for the promotion of human rights and sexual health and you are able to implement them in working life - You understand sexual diversity Competences: Ethics: • The graduating student assesses and promotes the realisation of ethical principles and values of their field of profession, taking equality and non-discrimination into account. • Is able to promote ethically sustainable activities and the realisation of ethical re-flection in their different operating environments. • Promotes the realisation of the ethical principles and values of their field. • Makes decisions taking individual, communal and societal perspectives into account. • Promotes the realisation of diversity and accessibility. • Implements the principles of responsible conduct of research and promotes their application in their work community. • Is able to manage societally influential activities based on ethical values. Content

Come and strengthen your skills in the field of sexual health promotion and human rights. This course will help you understand and evaluate the promotion of sexual health and human rights at the individual, community and societal levels. In this Study Course, you will familiarize yourself with the following themes: - Sexual health promotion and human rights at the individual, community and societal levels, the PLISSIT model - Human and sexual rights and ethics - The dimensions of sexuality and human rights in society -Sexual health and sexual diversity - Sexual violations and human rights violations, such as genital mutilation, prostitution and human trafficking - Sexual health promotion skills Items of Assessment: Definition of terms (10%): The student defines a number of terms related to sexuality and sexual health promotion. Realization of sexual rights (10%): The student considers how sexual rights are realized in the community. Values and attitudes (10%): The student considers and reflects on their own values and attitudes regarding equality in the learning diary. They also consider ways to promote equality in their own work. Sexual Health Promotion Action Plan (10%): The student writes a summary of their reflection on the implementation of the action plan recommendations nationally. The student reflects on what kind of actions are needed to promote sexual and reproductive health at the individual, community and societal levels. The student comments on another student's summary. Sexual and reproductive health research article (15%): The student presents one research article related to their own work on the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and considers how the research results can be utilized in their own work. Sexual health promotion professional skills (15%) group assignment: Students present one topic related to sexual health promotion professional skills using for example a video or PowerPoint presentation. Students provide peer feedback. Violation of human and sexual rights (10%): The student considers the identification, prevention and related health issues related to one theme related to the violation of human and sexual rights. Media (10%): The students choose a case or an article about sexuality from public media and analyse it. The analyses are submitted to the discussion forum and discussed. International programs promoting sexual health (10%): The student writes a short summary of one international program related to promoting sexual health. The student peer-reviews another student's peer-review.
