Objective
Students read and pronounce Russian more confidently. They can use basic Russian vocabulary and structures in everyday communication situations. Students can understand simple texts and speech when the topic is related to a familiar context and the speech is slow and clear. They can construct simple questions and answers and take part in short conversations. The student has a command of basic grammar and can write short messages and simple descriptions. They will be able to identify the basic features of Russian culture and act in accordance with the language and cultural norms in basic everyday situations.
Execution methods
36 hours of pair and group work with teacher guidance, 60 hours of independent work.
Accomplishment methods
Regular participation in contact teaching. Returning homework, essays and vocabulary tests on time. Participation in the final exam.
Content
The course includes a variety of exercises. Students read and translate simple dialogues and texts, listen to audio materials, write short essays, and take vocabulary tests. The course covers different types of pronouns, numerals, cases, verb conjugation, the basics of aspect, and verbs of motion. The main topics include family, hobbies and free time, describing one’s home, and one’s hometown.
