Objective

The student is able to analyze and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of research, development and innovation from the perspective of a work community, organization, network, and strategic development. He / she is able to analyze the cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary phenomena underlying development activities and he/she is able to produce justified development proposals and related measures. He / she is able to develop practices that take into account multiculturalism and internationality, and to lead socially influential activities based on ethical and sustainable development values.

Competences focused on the study unit are: sustainable development, internationality and multiculturalism, ethics, foresight and development skills, project management

Teaching methods

The study unit is implemented as online studies. The study unit includes prescheduled contact days according to the schedule below.
The teaching in the study unit is based on co-educational pedagogy and it is implemented in Finnish and in English. Learning assignments are done individually or in a small group. It is possible to complete the studies in either Finnish or in English.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1-2: The student
- describes solutions to the contents presented in his / her development task with the help of the key competencies developed during the study unit.
- justifies the solutions he/she describes primarily from a practical point of view, but also with the help of evidence-based references.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

3-4: The student
- analyzes the solutions suitable for the contents presented in his / her development task with the help of the key competencies developed during the study unit.
- shows an effort to think innovatively and apply knowledge based on his/her own experiences and evidence-based references.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

5: The student
- builds creative solutions on the contents presented in his / her development task with the help of the key competencies developed during the study unit.
- uses evidence-based information and demonstrates the ability to engage convincingly in a discussion on a topic being studied.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student justifies the solutions he/she describes primarily from a practical point of view, but also with the help of evidence-based references.
