Objective
The student understands and is able to use the most basic grammatical structures and vocabulary in Spanish. The student knows some characteristics of the culture and habits of the Spanish-speaking world. CEFR level A1
Content
The alphabet and the Spanish pronunciation, the most basic oral and written communication, e.g., greetings, introductions, visiting cafes and hotels, and traveling. Numbers (1-100), nouns, adjectives, question words, verbs in present tense, prepositions, pronouns, and language learning strategies.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student identifies and understands the basic structures covered in the course and uses the basic vocabulary learned in the course in a limited manner. The student can cope with simple written and oral communication situations in an understandable way. The student recognises the importance of keeping to deadlines and being responsible.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student uses the basic structures and vocabulary covered in the course in a largely consistent way. The student is able to cope with written and oral communication situations. They can keep to deadlines and act responsibly.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student applies the basic structures and vocabulary covered in the course consistently. The student copes with written and oral communication situations in everyday life in an appropriate manner. They act responsibly and clearly assess the impact of their own actions.

Students have the possibility to demonstrate their previously acquired competences, for which they do not have a certificate issued by a higher education institution, by taking the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) test.
