Objective
After completion of the course the student is able to
- identify the debate around the Anthropocene
- identify the role of business and economy in the Anthropocene
- think about radically novel ways of organizing and narrating
- identify novel theoretical concepts and methodological perspectives needed for organizing in the new era.
Content
Planetary crisis, crisis of thinking, geological forces, multispecies life, new materialism, living-with, thinking-with, post anthropocentrism, radical ways of thinking, multispecies storytelling.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Fail (0):. The contents of the course and related concepts are misunderstood. The text is incoherent, too short, and does not follow the tasks set in the assignment.
Sufficient (1): A scarce understanding of the contents of the course. The text may include misunderstandings. It does not display student’s own thinking, and mostly refers and repeats the contents of the lectures and course materials.
Satisfactory (2): A fair understanding of the contents of the course. Most of the text refers and repeats the contents of the lectures and the course materials, while showing some own thinking and reflection.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3): A good understanding of the contents of the course. The text discusses the contents of the course from many angles and in a reflective manner, showing own thinking. The general view, links between the topics, and the application of the knowledge do not receive much attention.
Very good (4): A very good and comprehensive understanding of the contents of the course. Student’s own thinking is visible throughout the text, which is written in a rigor, analytic and integrative way. The text also demonstrates criticality and good application of the knowledge.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellen (5): An excellent, profound and comprehensive understanding of the contents of the course. The text is reflexive, analytic, critical, personal, original, bold and wondering. It provides a well-designed story showing an integrated understanding of the topic, and opens up new thoughts and ideas.
