Learning objectives
The internationalization of business activities transcends national boundaries. Nevertheless, the basic contexts in which businesses operates internationally is still within foreign countries (inter-nation-al). The PEST (SLEPT) variables crucially determine the success of every international business venture. These are external and uncontrollable forces in the foreign environments. The course on international business environment will present a comprehensive in-depth view of the global business environment. It will cover such issues as, political and economic risks, the role of MNCs, International organizations, regional trade blocs, global competition and challenges. In addition, students will gain knowledge of how a country's political, economic, and legal systems influence the benefits, costs, and risks associated with doing business in that country, global competition and competitiveness of national markets, and how to analyze the international business environment using SLEPT tool.
