Objective
The course gives students necessary basic knowledge about software engineering and practical skills used throughout the whole study period. Moreover, these knowledge and skills form a solid foundation for the successful development of the professional career in this field. The particular objectives of this course include:
• To give the basic theoretical knowledge about software engineering as a discipline.
• To teach students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical exercises. Students should be able to analyze system requirements, model the system architecture, and know and use modeling and software tools.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
To pass the course students has to full fill following assessment criteria:
The student understands generally the main ideas of software development and different stages of system analysis and design. The student knows the concepts and tools discussed in the course but (s)he has difficulties in explaining them and applying. The student submitted acceptable course assignments on time and gave at least 30% correct answers at the final written examination.
