Tavoitteet

The student learns to know the most common machine elements and understand their importance and meaning in mechanical engineering. The student learns to carry out basic design tasks concerning the bearing system and therefore understands the importance of bearings in moving machines and machine elements. The student is able to choose the basic mechanical elements in different situations by implementing different design assignments and exercises. Detailed topics: Screws and designing a screw connection; Bearings and designing a bearing system; Linear motion and components; Couplings; Springs; Chain and belt drives; Basic machine elements (wedges, locking rings etc.).
