Objective

After the course the student
- is able to apply the EU law within the fields in relation to national law
Knows and understands
- the historical and recent developments of the legal rules
- the place of the legislation within the Treaty framework
- the aims of the legislation
- their methods of interpretation
- basic jurisprudence related

The course prepares the student for attorney/court work within the fields.

Teaching is research based, so the student will acquire also insight to the research based legal analysis.

1. Historical development of the policies
2. The theory of the cooperation
2. Jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters
3. European arrest warrant
4. Jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in matrimonial matters and the matters of parental responsibility
5. Other types of judicial cooperation and cross-border cases
6. Assisting EU instruments
7. Case law
